A little bit About Me

Career and leadership

I have over 25 years’ experience making everything from large web platforms to through-the-line campaigns, games, apps, soundscapes, activations and animations, and I’m still hands on with all of it. Most importantly, I’ve always been drawn to clients and work that does good and supports communities.

As a leader, I care about people first. I take the time to understand what motivates my team and what they’re passionate about, and line that up with where the business needs to go.

The most exciting part of the job right now is AI. Working as a creative, there have been many times in my career when there was a gap between having an idea and being able to make it, mostly due to budget or time. Right now I’m in the thick of building AI workflows that run from the first idea all the way through to production. Some of that is taking the templates and repetitive work off the team, so they have more time for the work that matters. Some of it is pushing the highly creative work further than budget or time would ever have allowed. Above all else, the craft still comes first

After hours

When not working, you can find me catching waves with my kids at the beach, taking my dog for long walks in nature. I’m inspired by all things creative and love getting hands on playing with AI, or creating illustrations, collages, and making weird sounds with my budding collection of synths in the wee hours of the morning.

PLAY

Play is my sandbox. It’s where I try things for fun just to see what happens, mostly sound, code and AI, and often all three at once. Most of what I learn there ends up in my day job. My latest project is Fathom, an experimental synth where you generate music and sounds through exploration.
