Challenge

Accounting software has become more readily available, Xero’s competition is fiercer with product features becoming increasingly similar. Xero needed to stand out from the sea of sameness and establish themselves as category leaders while demonstrating how we make business admin easier and more beautiful.

Solution

Better business is a platform designed to provide a clear, unified narrative to underpin key marketing initiatives and media partnerships. Our TVCs show the feeling of empowerment Xero gives when you transform your business into a better business. Each story opens in the ordinary world, in a moment of pure realism where our business owner stalls in a familiar moment of frustration. Completing a task in the Xero app acts as a conduit, transporting them into their own unique blue world, true to their hidden passion. When you run your business with Xero everything is effortless, and day-to-day tasks become a choreographed series of actions with energy and flow.

The platform was adopted by the wider Australian business as a solution to align numerous operating priorities and the creative extended beyond the TVC, coming to life through messaging seen in outdoor, radio, media partnerships, events, and social where we extended the campaign by highlighting the small businesses that came together to produce the TVC. The Better Business platform was so successful that it has been adopted in the US, extending its reach and impact.

Brief

Many business owners across Singapore and Hong Kong rely on outdated accounting practices and aren’t aware of the many benefits of cloud accounting through products like Xero. In order to be effective in the region, our approach needed to be visually striking and succinct with our messaging.

Solution

Take control of business communicates how Xero’s features benefit small business owners by giving them visibility and confidence with their numbers. Our creative demonstrated how moving your business to the cloud can not only help grow your business but also save you time and reduce the stress of admin.

Brief

A large number of small business owners in Singapore and Hong Kong use traditional methods, such as spreadsheets, to manage their finances. We were briefed to raise brand awareness and let them know that there’s a smarter way to have better visibility over their finances and have more control over the numbers.

Solution

Do yourself a favor addresses the idea that change is often more daunting than the actual process itself. We introduced business owners to a more confident version of themselves who've already made the switch to Xero. This confident alter ego explains how making the change from their old way of working saved themselves from time-wasting and other common business frustrations.
